ISSUE 148 – JULY 2026

Welcome to your July edition of Thinklocal! Pop the kettle on, find a comfortable spot, and take a well-deserved moment to sit back and have a good read of this month’s issue.
Summer is truly in full swing, and our local calendar is absolutely packed. Turn to our "What’s On" section on pages 36–44 to start planning your month. A massive highlight is the annual St Neots Armed Forces Weekend returning on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July. It is always such a fantastic event for the whole family, so do check out page 39 for all the details.
If you fancy trying something a bit different, how about stepping inside a real piece of local history? The historic Eaton Socon Cage—our very own village lock-up—is opening its doors on Sunday 28th June and Sunday 26th July from 2pm to 4pm. It’s completely free, brilliant fun for both kids and adults, and a great talking point. You can find out more on page 68.
I really hope you’re loving the new local photographs featured throughout our pages. The incredibly talented Maciek Platek from The St Neots Gallery has been out and about capturing these gorgeous shots of our town. Our front cover and above this month features Priory Park in full summer bloom—doesn't it look stunning?
As always, a huge thank you goes to the wonderful local businesses that support us; quite simply, Thinklocal wouldn’t exist without them. This month, I’m delighted to welcome back some familiar faces: Goldleaf Jewellers, RWA Associates, St Neots Players, and Crafty Monkey. A warm welcome also goes to our newest advertisers: Paxton Lakes Sailing Club, Bloom Care, Coversure and Lauren Rook Beauty Treatments. Please do mention Thinklocal whenever you get in touch with them! If you know a business owner who would love to reach 13,500 local homes every month, please do pass my details along.
I know it’s only July but if you are a club, group, organisation or local business looking to book your ‘Christmas’ party, look no further than The Snooty Tavern, see their fantastic lunch menu on page 11.
Finally, please take a look at the important advice from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue on page 56. We want everyone to enjoy the summer weather while staying safe.
Have a wonderful July, and I'll catch up with you next month!
Please enjoy are latest edition...
Best wishes,
