SCRAPBOOKING 101
For me, scrapbooking is an outlet for my creativity and is all about preserving those special memories for years and generations to come. I think it’s super important in a world dominated by social media that we have time to reflect on our lives – even the good and the bad. This can be through journaling, photos or keeping memorabilia.
But just how do you start to scrapbook? Many people, during lockdown, started the process of documenting their lives as it was an unprecedented time and they continue to do so. I began scrapbooking as a channel for my mental health, I was struggling at the time and needed some me time – memory keeping allowed me to concentrate on the present, of what was right in front of me, but also reflect on the good memories of the past.
The biggest preconception is that you need all of the supplies to get started. However, all you really needed is a passion for preserving memories and a little bit of creativity but paper, pens, photos and embellishments help too.

SCRAPBOOK EXAMPLES

In summary, Scrapbooking is a perfect hobby to take up if you are very sentimental, have bags full of leaflets and photos you don’t know what to do with and a little sprinkling of creative magic. It is great especially in the winter months, full of rainy cold days, just to sit inside by the fire and reminisce.
