The fascinating world of Amateur Radio

Huntingdonshire Amateur Radio Society (HARS) welcomes all newcomers to its regular meetings where you will find a warm, friendly, relaxed and informal atmosphere with plenty of likeminded people willing to share their experiences and knowledge with you.

HARS is affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB). We enjoy the many aspects of Voice and CW (Morse Code) operating plus Data Modes (working amateur callsigns using a PC linked into the radio).

Aims of the Club

  • HARS has many members with wide interests in operating amateur radio including active CW training and appreciation group. We are a very dynamic Club which listens to our members and their needs and the changing world of the hobby.
  • If you require any assistance with getting on air then reach out to a member of the Committee as they may be able to get help to achieve this for you.
  • We strive to provide interesting and inspiring Presentations at our Club Meetings by Guest Speaker or by Club Members who have a passion for a specific section of amateur radio or from their working environment.
  • HARS promotes awareness of the hobby in the local community through Special Event Radio Stations during the year. These are also used to celebrate or commemorate a specific event or occasion which could be an anniversary, a historical event or date, maybe a festival or even a milestone of achievement.

Anyone who has an interest in any aspect of radio or Amateur radio is welcomed to attend our meetings and engage with our members who are more than happy to share their knowledge and years of experience whatever age.
