The Watercolour Works of Mike Gorham
BROOK HOUSE PRESENTS THE WATERCOLOUR WORKS OF MIKE GORHAM
13th September 10am – 4.00pm
13th September 10am – 4.00pm
Local artist, Mike Gorham is a retired hydraulic engineer who moved to St Neots some 53 years ago when the company he worked for relocated from Hitchin Herts to St Neots.
At that time Mike was a national level athlete, however, aged 25 years Mike removed himself from high level competition in favour of family and work. He still had maintained a high level of fitness until the onset of hip wear some 10 years ago and realizing that he would need a new challenge in life, he decided to apply himself to artwork and converted his private gym into a craft and art studio.
Having had a hip replacement Mike is back in training but spends much of his time in the studio where he and his partner apply themselves to their individual skills.
Initially Mike had considered oil painting but on attending one of IAN MICHAEL MC MANUSES watercolour workshops became interested in its medium, Mike says ‘It’s a most frustrating medium, but it’s too late now I am hooked”

Now aged 78, that’s where you’ll find him; either in the Snapfit gym or in his converted garage studio developing his watercolour skills.
Over the last 3 years mike has held several successful exhibitions with the next one being at Brook House St Neots on Saturday 13 September 2025 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Repeating his successful exhibition from last year at Brook House, each piece of work is MG original as there are no reprints, and you will be able to see over 100 of Mikes watercolour colour paintings.
For this event sale prices are reduced and on display there will be over 20 framed pieces of Mike Gorham original paintings, circa 50 mounted works of Mike Gorham original work and circa 30 paintings on cotton paper.
All paintings are on high-quality cotton paper. Customers who buy mounted or unmounted work during this event will be able to take advantage of Mikes offer to frame items at cost only prices.
