Cambridge Model Boat Club
We are a small group of model boat enthusiasts, and meet every Thursday weather permitting at Paxton Lake, nearest postcode; PE19 4ET to sail our boats, we also meet every Sunday morning at Cawcutts lake at Histon near Cambridge. Wednesday 1st January

New Years Day Walk – Paxton Pits

10:30am, Paxton Pits Visitor Centre. This walk is open to everyone and will be led by two knowledgeable and experienced leaders. Alan Garner will be focusing on the many varieties of birds on the reserve and Ann Miles will be concentrating on the wealth of flora and fauna. Come along and start the New Year surrounded by the wonderful nature Paxton Pits has to offer! A suggested donation of £3 will go towards the Friends of Paxton Pits, to help with the upkeep of the reserve.

St Neots Astronomical Association – Observing Session

Paxton Pits visitor centre. 7.30pm. Non-members very welcome, the first visit is free. St Neots Astronomical Association www.SNAA.co.uk.  Our winter observing season, if the skies are clear then telescopes will be set up outside, if cloudy there will be an astronomical talk. Do you need help setting up your telescope or finding stellar objects then come along to the St Neots Astronomy club.

A new talk by Rodney Todman – This will be our archivist’s last illustrated talk, using a unique series of photographs of St Neots, taken at a time of austerity and rationing.  All captured on one day in 1949.
