ISSUE 119 – FEBRUARY 2024

Welcome to your February edition of Thinklocal. Love is in the air all the way through this month with Valentines Day falling on 14th February and Leap Year this month on 29th February!

These days, a Leap year means an extra day in the calendar year which is added for scientific reasons and making 2024 have 366 days! But years ago it meant much more – particularly to women! This was a role reversal for women to propose to men, not just on 29th February but during the whole leap year, this tradition is thought to have originated from Ireland during the 5th century. So what are you waiting for ladies………..

We have a packed issue once again due to the thanks of local businesses, groups, organisations, and clubs. Please mention Thinklocal whenever you contact any of these please! In April we will be celebrating 10 years of running Thinklocal Magazine, it really doesn’t seem possible, please see page 05 for information on how you can get involved in the magazine. We want our 10th anniversary edition to be the best yet!
