HOPE BECAME THE ENEMY

Igrew up in a very small village in Essex where the most exciting thing that happened was the fortnightly visit from the library van. As I delved into those exciting adventures, I dreamt of being one of the heroines inside those books.

Once I left school, I headed for the bright lights of, first Nottingham, and then London, but I couldn’t seem to find what I was looking for. I wanted to do something exciting, have my own adventures, so I changed my career and jumped on a plane to Turkey.

20 years later with a head full of stories I returned to England and settled in the beautiful market town of St Neots. While walking my dog through the fields and along the river the seed of a story began to grow in my mind and Hope Became The Enemy was born.

A STORY…

Hope Became The Enemy is a story of a young woman, Josie, who moves to Turkey to teach English. As she slowly falls in love with her new life, she takes the reader on an exciting adventure across Turkey and through her eyes they learn about the cultures and traditions of this transcontinental land.

By chance, while she is on holiday with friends on the west coast, she meets the tall, charismatic Bechir. Their relationship is rocky and has its ups and downs, but a couple of years later they are married, living in Istanbul and expecting their first child. She settles down to live her dream life in the sun with the man that she loves.

All too late she realises that she is married to a malignant narcissist and trapped. She knows it is dangerous to stay and that she must leave, but how?
