LEMONADE FOR UKRAINE

Brody; An amazing little boy raising money for Ukrainian refugees.

Brody is a 4-year-old lad from St Neots who started up his lemonade stand after watching the news with myself (mum) and seeing a little girl crying saying she doesn’t want to die as they hid in a bunker. I (mum) burst into tears and Brody looked at me and said mummy we have to help them! This instantly made me extremely proud of Brody for the fact he sees people who are hurt, sad and in danger, and instantly thinks he needs to help!

He wanted to open our house to Ukrainian refugee mothers and children but unfortunately, we aren’t in a position to do this, so we had to compromise and agreed he could do some fundraising. With that, dad said hey why not sell lemonade to which Brody instantly smiled and said yes let’s make lemonade! That following Saturday Brody was supported in making lemonade for his sale on the Sunday on the Loves Farm Estate. Customers started to arrive before he had even set up. It was a very successful day with a great backing from the community. Brody said mummy I want to do it again so with many suggestions of setting up at the next forthcoming Farmers Market, we got to work making it happen.

THANKFULLY…

thankfully many members of the community pointed us in the right direction and the Council pulled a few strings and granted permission along with a full set up. Waitrose had kindly been in contact and offered to donate all ingredients for the next sale which they delivered to our house along with a bag of goodies for him, which was extremely kind.

I contacted Jonnie Graffiti and asked if he could make a sign for Brody’s stall which he offered to do for free, again amazingly generous. Brody was chuffed to bits with it and it’s currently in his bedroom sitting proudly against his wall.

Brody was greeted with such a warm kindness at the Farmers Market and was able to raise a huge amount of just under £500! The community again really got behind him and came down to see him. We have been massively overwhelmed with the support of this community as we only moved to St Neots in November.

Brody has now raised a massive £2016 so far! We are immensely proud of him; he has a big heart and inspires us as his parents.
Brody has no intention of stopping so we are looking at something different, something we can put on for the community to enjoy whilst still raising for such a great cause.
